Frequently Asked Questions
Some common questions are answered below. If your question is not answered here, text or call us to schedule a no-cost 15 minute consultation call.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, we are in network with many insurance companies. However, some types of assessments are not often covered by insurance, such as evaluations for a learning disability.

What if I don't want to use insurance?
Insurance companies often dictate what psychological measures can be utilized and rush providers by paying for only certain aspects of psychological testing. By not going through insurance, we can customize the assessment process based on your child's individual needs.
What is unique about you?
At Copper Valley Psychology, we go beyond the bare minimum. We will collaborate with your child's teachers, pediatricians, and other treatment providers including behavior observations at your child's school. We will be a true member of your child's team and will remain available for consultation after testing is over.

How will I get my results?
After the testing process is complete, we will meet with you (typically about a week after testing) to review the diagnosis, recommendations, and to answer all of your questions. We will also provide you with a written summary of your child's results in electronic and physical formats.
What can I expect the day of testing?
How long the appointment will last will depend on many factors such as how old your child is and how complex of an assessment we are doing. It can vary anywhere from 3 to 6 hours. Don't worry though, we will go at your child's pace and will take plenty of breaks including a longer lunch break. While it can be a tiring day for your child it won't be longer then a typical school day.
Why are testing reports so hard to read?
They can be, can't they? At Copper Valley Psychology we believe test results should be readable, helpful, and brief. We want your report to guide school interventions and mental health treatment in a straightforward and strengths-based manner.
